Aperture Science is the main rival to Black Mesa.
They started with shower curtains, and moved up to quantum physics! When the CEO of Aperture Science passed away, he had his conscience uploaded as an artificial A.I in a robot known as the Gladus.
Half-life 2 is definitely worth a play, even 10 years after it's initial release.
