Night and Day

Today was a stunner, after the morning fog dissipated there was nothing but blue sky and no wind. Time to go out for a serious ride, to check out this "revitalised" bike. This was a Mid-day ride and as usual the roads were pretty busy, until I left town and headed out towards the Wainui coast.

I decided to stop at the Remutaka Forest Park (5km short from the coastline) to enjoy a little bit of time in the bush. They (DOC Department of Conservation) closed down this well maintained camp site probably due to the bad weather we be having recently. I couldn't get to it due to the high river crossing level so its time to head home.

The ride was amazing, the new chain made a HUGE difference, "night and day". I never noticed before from previous bike services, but the bike was flying. I was going much faster with little effort. It had to be the transfer of power from me through the chain into the rear wheel. Well that's my theory. The new chainring is another factor to take into consideration. I'm not worried about dropped /slipping chain any more, does wonders to your confidence went putting on the power :-)

Recovery time, will be a whole day for me :-)
