#Alive

#Alive has been on my watchlist for a long time, given that I'm a big fan of the zombie franchise movies. I finally gave it a shot last week, and it was worth the watch.

Being a zombie movie fan, I was very much interested in the characteristics of the zombies because I had seen a lot of species, and I must say, the ones used in this movie met my expectations. They exhibited the very exact thing I had in mind, although with weird features that I never thought of, but even with that, I felt they played out well compared to some zombies I've watched that made me rate the movies and series 0.5/10. Lol

Alive is a standalone Korean movie released in 2020 with the main actor, Joon-woo, a gamer and a livestreamer who found himself in one of those locked-in days, trapped in his apartment due to how the "infected" have taken over the city. He watched the news on TV, but the network was interrupted, and it went off. He peeped from his window and saw a hell-like scene happening on the ground, people behaving abnormally and tearing humans apart. He became scared and feared how he would survive because he couldn't just step out.
As the day passed by, the water and food in the house got exhausted. To survive, he switched to taking strong alcohol in the house in place of water, and when he couldn't take it all, he decided to hang himself, and that was when Yoo-bin, from a faraway block, signaled him with a laser light.

From the far distance between them, they sought means to communicate, and that's how they agreed to survive together until a rescue team appears.

The movie is so direct. It didn't centre on multiple dimensions such as bringing the genesis of the infection or trying to make a cure. It was just about survival; not just Joon-woo and his friend; it shows how humans can do anything to survive the pain and live on. That's seen where a man who has his wife infected locks her up and decides to feed her with humans because he couldn't imagine letting his dear wife go like that.

Also, there are no confusing characters; there are just a few characters, and I love situations like that.

I would give it an 8/10 rating.
