Different Artists, Different Mindsets
Today I want to talk about something that hit me during one of our recent life drawing classes. As artists, we all enter the same space, sit in the same room, and draw the same models… but what comes out of us is completely different.
I was going through some of my classmates works in the classroom and these two sketches drew my attention out. Not just because of the drawing style, but because they represented something deeper.
One of the drawings was done with real effort. You could tell the artist took time to study the pose, understand the body, feel the movement, and translate it on paper.
While the other one felt something different. No form, no observation, just lines filling a page maybe just to telI us I attended the class😂😂😂😂
And that made me think…
In life,I believe we are all in the same class but not on the same journey.
Some of us are here because we’re passionate. We want to grow. We want to get better. We make mistakes, get frustrated, but still come back to try again.
Others, They’re just there. Maybe for just there parents. Maybe for the certificate, or because they have no other choice.
And that’s the reality of being in a creative space you start to see how the mindset to people play in there papers.
I’m not saying this to look down on anyone but I am saying this to remind myself why I’m here.
I want to be that artist who never stops learning. Who takes every class as an opportunity to improve. Who respects the process.
Art is not about being perfect it’s about being present.
Whether you’re holding a pencil for the first time, or you’ve been drawing for years… it’s your mindset that determines your progress.
As I continue my journey, I’m learning to pay attention not just to the artworks, but to the intentions behind them.
Because behind every drawing, there’s a story…
And behind every artist, there’s a reason.
Thanks you
