AFTER THE PANDEMIC
For some reason I miss the pandemic, although I do not pray for another pandemic, however, I miss my life during the pandemic. Funny how I went out a lot during the pandemic and that was because staying home became boring at a point. The pandemic made me socialize a lot. This is me who finds it hard starting up a conversation because it becomes weird when the person I'm trying to strike up a conversation with does not give half the amount of energy I'm putting into the conversation or when the person is giving me the I want to go attitude, I just end up feeling embarrassed knowing the battles I had to fight in my head before finally summoning the courage to start up that conversation.

During the pandemic, I had a lot of those opportunities, but the tides changed this time, it was people who had always wanted to talk to me finally getting the opportunity to talk to me. It felt good because I'm good at marching people's energy and keeping a conversation going, especially when the person is as real as they get. Although there were still people I wanted to be friends with but never approached them for obvious reasons, I had a lot of people who were just satisfied being my friends and since we all had time (Life was boring) we did a lot of hanging out together. If there was one thing I learned during those times, it was communication and how it affects us.
I got to see my strengths and weaknesses in the act of communicating with a lot of people. Now I do not have time to talk like before, it's usually work, work, work and tiredness. Not just me, but also my friends. Although we talk once in a grey moon 🌚, it's obvious that everything has changed with almost all of us. I only talk to one of my friends daily, and that's because we have a lot of projects we're working on together. So like the old saying, 20 friends can not be together for 20 years, we are gradually finding our square roots in life and it's separating us from what once brought us together. Now everyone is too busy to even say Hi, and only do so when we realize it's been a while since we talked… a while there could be after going 8 months or even over a year without talking.

As I said earlier, I wouldn't want the pandemic back, but I know if people didn't have to take on multiple jobs just to make ends meet, perhaps we would have time for other important things in life. The pandemic brought out our humanity which has gotten through time in meditation and observation, something that's hard to do in this current time. Thinking about it, when was the last time you checked up on someone far away from you but in your contact list? You've probably been too busy to do so, but I'm certain if things were a lot better, communication and socialization would become a lot easier. Especially for people like me
