Calgary Zoo

I went to the Calgary Zoo in August of 2015. I wanted an opportunity to take some wildlife pictures and start to hone my skills in that area. Thinking the zoo would be a good start for that, I planned for an afternoon of it. It proved to be challenging in its own way, not realizing how much fences and glass would get in the way of getting a good shot. I learned that you need to be a bit more inventive in finding solutions for these types of things. My favorite shot of the day was definitely of the gorilla. As I was shooting, she came out and sat right down and posed for me.
