Star Wars Lego Bundle
Someone posted this bundle up on the first of April, and as we know, that's April Fool's Day. Considering it's a day of pranks, I was skeptical about this bundle, as were others in the comments on it.
I went out on a whim and put in an offer, and being first to do so, we struck a deal.
Now, this is some really good stuff... somewhere beneath the thick, and I mean THICK, layer of dust, there is some gold here.
By the look of it, it's all complete, and there is a bag of mini-figs who go along with each set. Also, there are instruction manuals and boxes for most of them.
These sets are fairly old, most go back to the mid-2000s.
The LAAT Gunship has always been my favourite Star Wars ship.
Of course, the Millennium Falcon is cool, as are the X-Wings and Tie Fighters. Hell, pretty much every Star Wars ship is great, apart from the Rebel Transport ship. Above all of them, for me, though, stands the LAAT Gunship. I just love it.
She needs a good scrub, that's for sure.
Two types of Juggernauts.
These things are kind of cool. I'm only really familiar with them from one of the mobile games I used to play. Star Wars Commander, I think it was called.
They appear in a blink and you'll miss it scene during, I think, the battle of Kashyyyk in Revenge of the Sith.
They're essentially all-terrain troop transports. Pretty cool, I must say.
I've always loved the Clone Wars era in Star Wars, and if I were to pinpoint a particular time I love in the franchise, it's the transition between Republic and Empire. Only some shows and games have showcased that era, but I love it.
Jedi being hunted down and exterminated, the galaxy being brought to heel under an authoritarian regime, the clones, heroes of an old war, being cast aside for new, and arguably less skilled recruits. Gangsters on the outer rim mustering control and power. You can point your lens at any aspect of life during that era, and you've got a story to tell.
Here are a few more.
There are a lot of other ships too, but as you can see, this collection is pretty kickass, and I'm delighted that I took the leap and bought it.
All I have to do is disassemble and clean it all, make sure it's all together.
