Getty Images Sales Update (Sept/Oct)

The last few months have made me very happy I went down the path of creating illustrations and patterns for stock. Without these sales my monthly statement might be a little thin.

Let's get into it...

September was a good month with 240 sales overall, the highest being a random pattern I wasn't even sure would sell.

This thing sold for $70, and while I'm not complaining, I sure am surprised.

Another strange thing about September is the highest 25 sales are all patterns, the highest photo sale wasn't until this shot of the Great Barrier Reef

October sales were a little lower with 184 sales overall, including dozens of sales of my laptop image. It's the image that keeps on giving.

I know I get a lot of eye rolling when it comes to selling stock imagery, especially with Getty. But when it's treated like a game where you have to figure out which methods work and which don't, you can build up a decent passive income over time. Nothing is easy, and if you want to see the returns you have to put in the work. That is something I do struggle with from time to time and find I upload new images in bursts. Once I start seeing the sales on them I shake my head at how long ago I could have started this and how far I would be now. But I do what I can...
