Action Research: Reflecting on Practice, Shaping the Future👩‍🏫

Today, I want to take you on a journey through our recent Action Research project, where we worked diligently to explore and address important questions that arose in our educational environment. I’ll share the strategies we implemented, the challenges we faced, and the impactful results we achieved. Join me as I delve into the lessons learned and the successes we celebrated along the way.

We started working on our Action Research during our internship, wherein we used to observe the learners and what are the problems that they were struggling to learn. What we observe is that they know how to read but most of them don't know how to understand what they read.

In this situation, me and my group decided to come up with the title Echo Reading: A Solution-oriented Strategy in Enhancing the Reading Comprehension Skills of Grade-IV Learners. We will use this echo reading strategy to support their development in Reading fluency, comprehending text, and boosting their confidence. We will use different literary works passages with multiple choice questions. This will not only enhance their comprehension, but also we want to promote how they appreciate literature.

We worked on our action research, and we got so sleepy and couldn't stop laughing if we could finish it or not. But with God's grace and dedication,, we did it. Until.....

The time of presentation comes. We are too early going to school, but we wait longer since we are number 7, and one group takes an hour or 30 minutes to present before they can go out since there will also be a question and answer after the presentation.

We wait until afternoon and yet, we go inside and present our action research. I don't feel nervous we just enjoy every moment while we present our action research. The panelists are four, including our department head and the dean of the school. We are just asking a few questions with minor revisions.

We are so happy about the results and suggestions they made for us. We are done presentation, and we are ready again to pass the manuscript to our supervisor for grading.

After everything, we go out on the campus and treat ourselves. We went to a mall and ordered some food and milk tea. The food is very delicious. I loved their milk tea. It's big, and I ordered a Mango graham cheese flavor, and it literally gives me butterflies sipping on it. I want to buy another one on other days.

I'm very thankful to my group mates as we shared ideas, knowledge, and the best to accomplish our action research. Throughout our study, it is important that we need to address solutions or strategies to enhance the reading proficiency of the learners. Not only do they read it, but also we have to teach them how to analyze and understand the text. It is important nationwide to know how to read, especially if you are a child who is growing and learning every moment.
