Push Notifications

Push technology,also known as server push, is an Internet-based communication where the request for a transaction is initiated by the publisher or central server.

Push is the reverse of pull where the request is initiated by the customer.

Push notifications have been previously prevalent in the mobile environment, and have been popping up everywhere on the internet.

Asking to enable push notification is one of the best ways to stay connected with your customers and keep them coming to your site.

Your customers might love your updates, and that will increase traction and bring more users to your site or application

The first company to start using push notifications is APPLE in 2009 and then not log after was followed by google and Microsoft in 2010 and 2015.

Push Notifications are handled by remote servers , the client app needs to be registered on the server with a unique key called Universal Unique Identifier(UUID) the server fires the message to the UUID to deliver the message to the client through server protocol like HTTP or XMPP and the client shows the message received

Google has a guide for enabling push notifications on your sites so if you are just getting into push notification that is a very good START
