The Sun Smiled Today

It was just another slow Saturday. The kids still in bed, a hot cup of steaming coffee in my hand as I peek through the window. No! I wasn’t peeking. I had like a gazillion open tabs in my head, and I was deciding which ones to close and which were worth my time.

Suddenly I decided, you know what? I wanna be out today. To see the outdoors and feel the sun on my skin just a little. It felt like it had been ages since I had been out there.

It's been crazy fun trying to meet deadlines, running around clogged schedules, and still showing up for my family all day, every day.

I took a drive with my kids to another side of town that I had never been to. It was bright and slow. I was loving every bit of the sun and fresh air until I came to a stop here.

From a distance, it looked like a little village. Occasionally I would come across simple settlements like this. When I got closer, I could now clearly see that it was a small market. Of course, the curious me had to sneak. So I gathered my minions and we went in for a little view.

I was glad I stopped. It was a small setting of mini stalls and shops full of colors, paintings, art, and crafts. It was truly breathtaking and I wondered why I had never heard of the place before.

Like a mini treasure, we found statuettes, bracelets, beads, traditional handmade clothes, bronze, rattan mats, and vases, alongside lots of pretty little things.

I wanted this mirror so bad that I went back for it. Hehe!

My son kept asking for one of these cuties until I later budged.

From this point, we went from one amazing view to another inspiring stall.

I think these little pieces of bronze were the highlight of my afternoon.

This nice man had me take a picture of him. His smile was so contagious.

Sometimes, it only takes the very minimal and simple things in life to put a smile on your face.

My rash decision to go out wasn't so impulsive after all, my family and I needed the air and it was spectacular.
