Tyrrell Museum
Hello Steemians
One of the most impressive museums I have ever visited
has to be the Tyrrell in Drumheller, Alberta, and is dedicated
specifically to paleontology.
It is situated in the heart of fossil bearing strata which was....
unearthed during the last ice age, when melted glacial water
removed the overburden and exposed the fossilized life
from 70 million years ago.
The most popular display in the museum is dinosaur hall, with....
over 40 mounted dinosaurs.
A number of other halls will give the visitor ....
the entire 4 billion year history of the earth.
Located just over an hour East of Calgary, in an area sometimes
referred to as the badlands, which makes for terrific hiking.
You will see canyons, ravines, hoodoos, and if you look down
probably some fossils.
