Mule Deer

I took a bike ride along the Parkway in Banff National Park, it is currently closed to vehicles except bikes, so as not to disturb the animals which are active feeding, looking for mates etc.

I came across these mule deer that were crossing the road.

They are a common sight in this area, but regardless it is still a thrill to see them up close. Notice their large ears, like a mule, and the white rump. Interesting the whitetail deer doesn't have any white visible, but only when it raises it's tail you can see the white on the underside of the tail.
