dreamscapes // hair

sometimes i dream i have long hair. it's one of my recurring dreams. i had it again last night, it was a dream about a trip, or an event. something involving lots of people that had to be organized. the people i was working with, i'm pretty sure, are people i've worked with before. either that or friends of the family. one had orange hair. anyway, i was holding a clipboard and my hair kept falling into my face. i was trying to listen to what a relatively short person was saying and slowly i saw hair falling around my line of sight. i tried to put it up again but it was slick. when i had long braids in waking life, i had this way of grabbing all my hair with head tilted back, then twisting first down, then up and around. i was describing the dream to a friend and realized this could be a past dream. i've been thinking about getting locks tho so it could also be a future dream. by that i mean it could be a dream built on either past experiences of future. all this to say, it came from a place not of the present. it's nice - time isn't actually linear outside of waking life. then again, i'm writing this six or seven hours after waking, i could be missing a few things.
