Great Sci Fi Shows you might have missed

I am a big sci fi guy, I love epics books turned movies like Ender's Game, Ready Player One or even old classic sagas like Terminator, Matrix etc. However, TV shows has also have it's place, as young kid I used to watch The Sci Fi channel, which then turned into SciFi and SyFy. So I would give you some of the classic TV shows that broke out as a Sci-Fi shows to my eyes.

Stargate SG-1

This one was a reboot of the original Stargate movie, but with a completely different cast and a somewhat different story. The lead guy was McGyver fame Richard Dean Anderson. A very charismatic actor with a sharp sense of humor. This aura was fully taken to this show. The show however also showcase a lot of great talent like officer Samantha Carter, acted by Amanda Tapping. The show is about an ancient technology that enable teleportation into different worlds across the galaxies.

The mood of the show, is that is very focused on the military and how they get to 'have all the fun' discovering new worlds and even getting to have diplomatic relationship with alien races. The show was fueled by a lot of the UFO conspiracies between aliens and the government. But also focus more closely with the exploration of new worlds.

The Orville

Perhaps you stumble with this show, is the most recent show and was made by Seth MacFarlane of Family Guy fame. It was somewhat built as a Star Trek-esque show with almost similar uniforms and a very similar world. But as the Star Trek franchise was changing their focus from exploration to be more action oriented. Orville took that aura of discovery and diplomacy across the galaxy and rebuilt it into a great show about maintaining a multi-species, multi-planetary society with different cultures and such, while at the same time searching for new worlds that might want or need to be brought into the galactic federation.

Quantum Leap

This is an OG show, but this is a very memorable 90s show about how Doctor Sam Beckett becomes trapped in a time warp. Where he keeps looping into different time periods and human lives to achieve a life goal. The unpredictability of these loops is what made these stories so increasingly relevant on the show. Many of these stories were also 'feel good' stories about morality and kindness which made the show be very family oriented. The show did had a strong sci fi background and capture the imagination of many 'Leapers'.
