In this painting, I illustrate the journey of a solitary monk walking toward a shrine that radiates a golden light. The shrine stands on a rock surrounded by a tranquil lake, its glow a beacon of spiritual guidance and peace.

The monk’s posture, still and resolute, reflects the quiet strength required for self-discovery. The dense greenery and the long path create a sense of immersion and progression, guiding the viewer’s eye toward the illuminated shrine. I used vibrant greens and blues to emphasize nature’s harmony, contrasted by the warm glow of the shrine.

For me, this work represents the universal longing for peace and clarity. The shrine isn’t just a destination—it’s a symbol of the inner calm we all seek, hidden within but illuminated by our journey.
