Pakistan or Islamic Republic of Pakistan ( Urdu : اسلامی جمہوریۂ پاکستان ; Islamic Jammeria-A-Pakistan ) is a country located in South Asia. The country is located at the junction of South Asia, Southwest Asia and Central Asia. Pakistan is part of the Indian subcontinent . The country has about a thousand kilometers long beaches. South of it (the Arabian Sea ). In the west there are Afghanistan and Iran , India before , and Tibet and Shikyang areas of China in the northeast . Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan. Karachi is the largest city in the country.
Nomenclature
In Persian , Sindhi and Urdu , the name "Pakistan" means "Country of the Holy Land". The name comes from the (undivided) name of four regions of India's northwest:

A - A phaganiya ( North-West Frontier Province , the current name of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa )

In 1933, Chaudhary Rahmat Ali proposed this name in his "Now or Never" book.
