It’s Friday

I woke up this morning feeling energized and productive. I’m proud to say that I’m getting enough sleep these past few days, and had a chance to rest from everything.

I started my day by having my breakfast and a warm cup of hot chocolate drink, a perfect way to start my morning!

After that, I did a few chores that needed to get done, like sweeping leaves in the backyard and feeding our dogs and chickens. While I was feeding the chickens, I even found an egg!

Looks like I’ve got something for tomorrow’s breakfast.

At first, I planned to chill today, just playing on my phone and iPad all day. But then I realized… it’s already been four days of doing that. I need to be more productive and catch up with the lessons with our subjects.

So for today, I decided to review our lessons for our Filipino subject and work on our Project Proposal. I was supposed to finish it last Monday, however my laziness kind of got in the way.

I usually keep an audio record of our discussions too, because honestly, I tend to fall asleep during class sometimes. Having an audio recordings help me go back and catch up with the past discussions that I missed. Of course, I always ask permission first!

After a few hours of focusing on schoolwork, I took a break and had my lunch. Then my mother mentioned that there would be a procession later in the afternoon for Good Friday.

It’s kind of a family tradition for us to join the procession annually. It’s our way of remembering the Passion of Christ and a form of prayer and reflection.

So, I got ready and we went to the church around 5:45 in the afternoon. When we got there, I wasn’t expecting by how many people are joining the procession, it was more crowded compared to last year.

The procession started exactly at six. As we walked, we stopped at different stations, each one represents the events from Jesus cruxifixtion.

At each station, there were people that are being crucified and getting beaten by someone. I overheard a kid say, “nakakatakot naman (it’s scary),” and honestly, I had the same reaction when I was young too.

The whole procession finished after an hour. After that, we went home and lit a candle at our backyard. It’s also one of our tradition to light a candle after such sacred event, as a way of bringing blessings and peace into our home.

Overall, today was a good day of productivity, reflection, and sacred event. I’m glad I pushed myself to get some school works done and also had time to join the procession for Good Friday. Days like this remind me that even small efforts—whether it’s studying, doing chores, or reflecting, can make the day feel fulfilling and meaningful.
