FIRST TIME EXPLORING HIVE BLOCKCHAIN: An Adventurous Path

Hey Hive-ites (smiles… I’m not sure what the official greeting here is yet). Unlike in Web3, where we say “GM” or “WAGMI,” I’d love to know what the slogan here is.

First, my name is JOY—though I love to be called “Joylene.” Most people find it unusual that a guy is named JOY, so I decided to add “-lene” from the alkenes family of hydrocarbons. Still, “Joylene” sounds more feminine 😁. My name is JOY (Ayọ in the Yoruba language).

I am a recent graduate of Pharmacology and Therapeutics—the study of drugs. Not just drugs in the everyday sense, but also compounds, substances, their activities in the body, and how the body reacts to them (i.e., pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics). I’m currently seeking roles and opportunities in this field.

I’m also exploring the field of chemo-informatics, also called computer-aided drug design. I specialize in molecular docking, which involves identifying suitable drug targets and optimizing lead compounds, often from natural plant origins. I’ll be sharing some of my projects later, including ones where I screened potential drug targets and drug-like phytocompounds from plants.

I’m also a Web3 enthusiast and have written content for several crypto projects that gained recognition.

Currently, I’m venturing into machine learning to advance my drug discovery journey. However, my biggest challenge right now is limited access to electricity where I’m based.

My hobbies aren’t too many, probably because I’m an introvert 😁, but I love writing. In fact, I can’t read something without jotting down a few ideas from it. I’m also passionate about anything tech-related, always curious about computers, and I enjoy repairing things, especially electronics. I’m not an expert, but maybe it’s a hidden talent, who knows?

I’m glad to be on this platform, thanks to my friend (we call him Prof) @aristotle1, who onboarded me here. I’d love to connect and learn from everyone in this space.
