I had pomegranate after a very long time
I once had my first pomegranate when I was in grade school. My mother brought it home from her friend whom she forgotten who since it was a very long time already. I only knew it for its vernacular name "granada" (grenade).
I remembered about it a few years ago when an advertisement on shampoo said they use it in their products for a vibrant color hair.
I asked my mother about it but she could not remember. I and my husband saw someone who has a plant and asked if she could sell me one so I could plant the seeds but she said no and later that year, her pomegranate tree died.
Few days ago, my husband brought me this as a surprise, his co-worker had a tree and braved himself to ask for one for me.
The fruit was a bit cracked showing the meat inside. It was pretty and my kids loved it too. But when we opened it, my husband hot. Little disappointed because some parts of fruit were damaged but I said it was okay since some parts can still be eaten and we could use the seeds to plant.
My kids loved it! They compared it to corn kernels and my daughter even said it was like teeth and we all laughed at her discription.
For now, we werr still drying the sees and soon, I will be preparing for seed bed and hope that it will germinate and aoon I will have my own pomegranate tree.
Do you have pomegranate tree around you? Do you like eating it?
