A small reward for me
Yesterday I treated myself to a little something after several busy weeks: I went to the midnight showing of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. I honestly thought I was going to fall asleep. I've been working very long hours lately, and the fatigue has really built up, but I still decided to take that time for myself and enjoy something I truly love.
And what a great decision it was. I won't give away any spoilers, but I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It took me through a whole range of emotions from beginning to end and ended with a message I really liked. Of course, it also leaves us with the feeling that the story still has a lot to tell.
Sometimes we forget how important it is to take a break amidst so many responsibilities. Between work, to-dos, and the fast pace of everyday life, dedicating a few hours to something you simply enjoy is also a way of taking care of yourself. And last night it was definitely worth it.
Ayer me di un pequeño regalo después de varias semanas bastante ocupadas: fui a la función de medianoche del estreno de Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sinceramente pensé que me iba a quedar dormida. Últimamente he estado haciendo jornadas laborales muy largas y el cansancio se ha acumulado bastante, pero aun así decidí tomarme ese tiempo para mí y disfrutar de algo que realmente me gusta.
Y qué buena decisión fue. No haré spoilers, pero puedo decir que disfruté muchísimo la película. Me hizo pasar por muchas emociones de principio a fin y terminó dejando un mensaje que me gustó bastante. Claro, también nos deja con esa sensación de que la historia todavía tiene mucho por contar.
A veces olvidamos lo importante que es hacer una pausa en medio de tantas responsabilidades. Entre el trabajo, los pendientes y el ritmo acelerado de todos los días, dedicar unas horas a algo que simplemente disfrutas también es una forma de cuidarte. Y definitivamente, anoche valió completamente la pena.
