Weekend experience week 236// The difficult thing I have done
Weekend Experience: Week 236
Hello everyone, I'm @johndoy0. It's great to be here again! It has been a while since I visited this vibrant community due to some challenges, but I’m glad to reconnect with such creative minds. A wise man once said, "Show me your friends, and I will tell you who you are." In other words, a creative person thrives best among other creatives.
This weekend kicks off with many exciting topics, and today, we’ll take a glimpse at "The most difficult thing you've ever done."
It’s fascinating to think about this because what seems difficult for one person may be easy for another. Life is full of hurdles, and each of us faces challenges that shape our paths. At the end of every journey, there’s always a bridge to cross—provided we take the first step.
Let me share my personal experience. Teaching has been part of my career journey, and though I initially never wanted to pursue it even at an opportunity, I later embraced it. It was during this time I truly understood what teachers go through. For some, it’s just about earning a paycheck, but for passionate educators, teaching goes far beyond money.
While teaching has many rewarding moments, there are aspects I struggle with—like writing lesson plans and notes. Don’t get me wrong; I know preparation is crucial. However, the task of sitting down to write everything out has always been a challenge for me. The environment I work in requires a structured approach, with detailed lesson plans for each day. To make things even harder, I was required to type these plans!
Initially, it felt overwhelming. Imagine preparing lesson notes for both Mathematics and Further Mathematics—it was exhausting. What seemed like a small task turned into a nightmare, taking me two days to complete just one day’s plan. And I needed to prepare for four days!
Despite these challenges, I powered through and gained a new appreciation for the dedication teaching demands.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I hope to see you again next weekend. Stay creative, and love you all!
