Things to note a
Who is a graphic designer
Communication has been proven to be the best way people relate together, many built relationships, association have been broken because of the breakage in communication. But the world is full of people of diverse ethnicity which has made it more difficult to communicate. It was on that note that graphics design came in place, carrying everybody along. It easier for people to relate with images than the write tops.
In general terms, the word “graphic” refers to any visual representation of data and includes a variety of forms including drawings, photographs, line art, graphs, diagrams, numbers, symbols, geometric designs, maps, and engineering drawings. Graphics may be images only or may also include text and they can be used for decoration or functional purposes, including educating, informing, illustrating, or entertaining.
When applied to computers, the term graphics is commonly used to refer to 2D digital images that are displayed, stored, created, or edited on a computer. There are two types of computer graphics; bitmap graphics and vector graphics, both of which can be used when designing templates for label printing.
It has been made easier now that graphics is not only done with computers but even with you smarth phone with app such as pixel lab and others.
A design is a plan or drawing produced to show the look and function or workings of a building, garment, or other object before it is made.
A designer is a person who plans the look or workings of something prior to it being made, by preparing drawings or plans.
A graphic designer is a professional within the graphic design and graphic arts industry who assembles together images, typography, or motion graphics to create a piece of design. A graphic designer creates the graphics primarily for published, printed, or electronic media, such as brochures and advertising. They are also sometimes responsible for typesetting, illustration, user interfaces. A core responsibility of the designer's job is to present information in a way that is both accessible and memorable.
You can't be a professional on a thing you have a little or have no idea on. There is always a room for improvement. Your old method of doing design won't be acceptable always because of the current charges in technology and the look of things - create room for improvement if you want to last in the industry.
To become a professional designer you must understand the following and how to implement them.
- Color:
The first thing that attract people to your work is your color combination. By the time you understand color it makes your work attractive and irrestable.
Color psychology is the study of how colors affect perceptions and behaviors. In marketing and branding, color psychology is focused on how colors impact consumers' impressions of a brand and whether or not they persuade consumers to consider specific brands or make a purchase
- Alignment:
This has to do with how you arrange your work, in other to look appealing to your customers. There are different ways you can align your work.
a. Align center
b. Align left
c. Align right
You can choose to combine two of this on your work but it must be done properly to avoid scattered work (work out of proportion). Your arrangement of text, elements and images is what beautify your work, but if alignment is missing it makes the work useless even though your color combination is great.
- Contrast
- Typography
