I have overcome the world
John 16:33
"These things I have spoken to you so that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have affliction; but trust, I have overcome the world. "
On the night before his dramatic crucifixion, Jesus Christ showed his love for his disciples and his followers at all times. Despite the tribulations that Christians experience, He wants us to have peace and encouragement.
He defeated the world and its malevolent ruler. He did not yield to any of Satan's persistent temptations. He was the pioneer, and he showed us how to get out of bondage to Satan and sin. His sacrifice allows us to be forgiven and receive the Holy Spirit to help us overcome the world as well.
1 Thessalonians 5:23
And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and that all his being, spirit, soul and body, sea preserved reprehensible for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN
