Brave Browser Starts Showing Ads

Hello All!

While I was checking my Reward Settings in my Brave Browser window, I noticed that the Ads section is now toggle-able and is available to be used!

After using it on and off for about a day now, I have a few thoughts and some facts that I would like to share.

So first things first, how much can you expect to earn? Well, each Ad that is displayed grants 0.05 BAT, which is around $0.02 at the time of writing. You may configure how many ads that you want to be displayed in a 1 hour time frame with a maximum amount of 5. So you can essentially make $0.10 an hour just by enabling this feature and browsing the internet! However, I have not received 5 ads in 1 hour yet. The network of advertisers may not be in full swing yet so earnings may improve in the future.

Well what do these advertisements look like? They are essentially just a Windows Notification that pops up in the bottom right corner of your screen (provided that you are on Windows 10). They are not too distracting, and sometimes there are some interesting offers.
