Healer (Freewrite Day 97)

dim-room.jpg

A woman opened the door. There were traces of tears on her cheeks, and her eyes were red. “Are you his mother?” Elaina asked.
The woman shook her head and motioned for Elaina to come in.

Inside three men were standing behind a sofa, and their eyes were fixed on Elaina. The boy, obviously, was lying on the sofa - with his head resting on the lap of a woman weeping. His eyes were closed.
The woman looked up at Elaina and struggled to say, “He’s still breathing.” Then she placed her forehead on the boy’s and whispered some words.
“Are you his mother?”
The woman nodded.
Elaina knelt down close to the sofa and placed her hand on the boy’s chest. “Please, get me some water. What’s his name?”
“Abdu.” It seemed like everyone in the room responded.
The lady who opened the door returned a few moments later with a cup of water, and Elaina glanced back at her assistant who was already unwrapping the golden bowl.
“Pour the water here,” Elaina said.

She poured some water on his lips. It spilled down his neck.
Then—he opened one of his eyes, slightly.
“Abdu!” his mom screamed.
Elaina poured more water.

Day 97. Prompt: Bowl
I actually spent more than five minutes thinking of the story, and then I corrected errors after I finished. :-)
