Just let go...
Portrait of a ballet dancer.
I met Sian through her dance teacher, Jenny. Jenny had been telling me how Sian was lacking in confidence since an accident 2 years prior and was finding it difficult to get back into her dancing. I offered to do a shoot with her to try and help build her confidence back up. Being able to visualise her performance really helped her.
Now Sian is pursuing her dream at one of London's top dance schools.
This was taken during the day with a single softbox. There was a bare window to the left which made it really difficult to control the light, so this was one shot of many many taken.
The experience made me realise how powerful photography can be and how much influence it can have on people.
