Hello Hivers, this is my first post on Hive. I have always been a low-profile member of the blockchain-based social blogging community since the days of Steemit.

A Little Introduction

I am Jayson, a cryptocurrency enthusiast and advocate from Malaysia. I started investing in cryptocurrency when my best friend introduced me to the crypto space back in 2017. After the bull run ended, I have co-founded three crypto-related companies and failed in the first two ventures.

Currently, I am the co-founder and community manager of a crypto-centric social media platform called TORUM. It is meant to be a central social gathering platform for cryptocurrency enthusiasts and blockchain technologists in the future.

How I Found Hive?

Everything begins when Justin Sun decided to take over Steemit Blockchain forcefully . As a result, a lot of Steemit hardcore community hard forked and switched to Hive to remove themselves from Justin's shackles. News broke out and the word "Hive" is everywhere in the crypto space.

After the hard fork, things gotten more interesting. Hive began its listing on major cryptocurrency exchange, including Binance and Huobi. What really caught my eyes is the Blokonomi report on the 460% meteoric rise of Hive's price, which makes me realize on how decentralization can contribute to a crypto asset's underlying value.

From my humble point of view, it was a symbolic moment for decentralized movement because it was the first time that the decentralized community (original hardcore Steemit community) took its stance and fight against the centralization control of capitalists (Justin Sun).

Why I Decided to Write on Hive?

As the co-founder of TORUM, I always see Hive as a key competitor of TORUM, along with Steemit, Somee Social, etc. In my old mindset, I am always perplexed on why the community is able to spend so much time on decentralized social blogging platforms like Steemit, especially when its user interface is so hideous (it's a harsh word, but that's what I really felt).

As TORUM launched its private beta platform almost two weeks ago (5th of July), I met a Malaysian Hiver called @zord189 who changes the way I used to think of Hive and other decentralized blogging platforms. Being one of TORUM's active testers, the former Steemian suggests to me that "instead of fighting Hive, TORUM should collaborate with other crypto social platforms and help each other out".

@zord189 even wrote an article titled "Got HIVE Listed On Torum, A Marketing Campaign
" on Hive five days ago. It got me thinking that

Must TORUM really compete with Hive and other crypto social platforms?

We are taking part in such a niche space and there is no incentive for us to compete against one another at all. In fact, we should be collaborating with one another and cherish our moment as one of the early adopters in the future of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

However, a community collaboration will not happen unless a TORUM Lander (That's what we called ourselves) involve himself in the community building on Hive. That's why I am going to start writing on Hive from this week.

Aside from that, I will also be writing one or two articles about Hive on TORUM every week and I will be grateful if I can have the support from any Hivers.
