Against all odds
Trump had won the elections, a storm was hitting the west of the island, we were in the middle of a general blackout. At the moment our reality was very similar to a biblical apocalypse but it was my best friend's birthday, so we decided to not let ourselves be crushed by circumstances and celebrate against all odds.
We went to the only place in the city where we thought there would be electricity, the Casa Granda hotel, however they didn't have electricity there either. That didn't stop us! We ordered some drinks and cake and toasted our misfortunes. We toast to at least being together, and facing whatever comes with the best of faces, to not letting ourselves get discouraged and to the future, to better things.
