Portraits Beyond Borders
Welcome to my new adventure: 📸
Every day working in a studio is a new adventure. It’s a part of my life that I’m absolutely loving, even though it’s quite demanding—both physically and emotionally.
Here, you’re not just a photographer; sometimes you become a translator, other times a psychologist, all in an instant. That’s why, from now on, I’ll call you, my readers, Adventure Crew!
Today I’m bringing you this project to share with my Adventure Crew 😉. I took in the studio of a doctor from Timor-Leste 🇹🇱, who is currently studying his specialty in Cuba. I had never met anyone from a place so far from mine — that country is actually quite close to Australia! So, everything felt very exotic to me hahaha.
He spoke Spanish very well, so communication wasn’t a problem — which had been one of my concerns. But just in case, I was already dusting off my English and a bit of Portuguese 😅.
Honestly, it was very easy to work with him since he knew exactly what he wanted — a clear sign of a well-organized mind. He wanted to look professional and friendly, and he made sure that the flags, especially the one from his country, were clearly visible.
For this session, I used a three-light setup: a 120 cm octabox with grid (SK 400 1/8) as the main light, a window softbox with grid as the fill light (SK 400 1/16), and a rim light with a stripbox (AD 200 1/8). The camera settings were f/5.6, 1/160s, ISO 160, using a Nikkor 50mm lens.
See you on the next adventure!😁📷
