Work life balance

Happy Monday, Dear Hivers! Another Monday, another start of the week. I am scheduled to have my work from home set up every Mondays, so today, I dozed off my alarm and slept a little more, knowing that i don't have to transport to the office. I then made myself a cup of coffee and went straight to my work station.

My day was quite hectic since since month end reports are fast approaching, plus audit season has officially kicked off. I just hope i can survive this week still alive haha. Kidding aside, I read a quote somewhere saying that "your job is as busy as you make it to be." And i totally agree. I know people from the corporate world who have high positions yet they can still manage to spend time with their family and friends. Then there's me, all worked up and tired while giving a bare minimum output.

So today, i'm embodying that mantra. During office hours, i try to stay focus and do some deep work for 2-3 hours so I could finish at least majority of my tasks. Being an accountant is a meticulous job because you have to scrutinize and apply professional skepticism in the work of others. We always adhere to policies.

When the clock strikes at 6pm, i then closed my office laptop, get dressed and attended a get together event. it's a free event however, each of us have to bring one kind of food for sharing. My sister and I brought Potato Corner Terra fries as our share. Some people bought pizza, lechon, barbecue, siomai, ice cream, and some snacks.

I enjoyed drinking this ginger beer brought by one of our acquaintances. Since i'm a brewer of fermented drinks, myself, I was curious of this drink. Its actually my first time tasting ginger brew.

We spend the night filled with food, games and fellowship. Although i'm still a little bit shy since these are just our acquaintances and i only knew a few people in this group. Im trying my best to create a work life balance amidst my busy schedule.
