Not an ordinary Monday
Happy Monday, my dear Hivers! It's officially the start of the work week for 2026 (because last week only had Friday as a regular working day).
I still have 2 remaining yoga sessions that'll expire until this Friday so I thought of joining the class consecutively today and tomorrow. Honestly, I have this love hate relationship with my yoga practice because at time, I feel like I'm not improving. One teacher also commented that I, among the other students, have an uneven length of legs. As a result, doing yoga activity that involves a left and a right part wouldn't feel the same. And I felt it when I can't perfectly do balancing poses on my right body but can do it in my left.
After work, I went straight to the studio, which luckily was just 14 minutes away from the office. This studio used to be somewhere far so going to this place have used up all my will power already.
Today's class was a beginner's class with my favorite teacher, Blanne. The wooden interior of the new studio surely added to the calm and serene vibe of the place. It's also located in a private subdivision so only a few vehicles pass by the place.
In my few months of yoga practice, I have tried some inversions, pincha and headstand, as these are some of the beginner friendly inversions. One teacher gave us a lecture about the different types of inversions and it's meaning. Head stand gives you more wisdom, hand stand is for action, pincha or shoulderstand means you're someone reliable. So when I learned about these things, the inversion that struck me the most is the hand stand as it reflects my current struggle in life. I know I've always been a dreamer, a thinker, and an artist. But putting my ideas to life is something I've been struggling with. So I thought, learning handstand might help.
Today, I just did my first handstand. It wasn't in my best form, and certainly I seek help from my yoga teacher. But doing it for the first time, feeling all the wait against my hands was satisfying. It reminded me of how strong I am.
Today wasn't just a typical Monday for me. It was definitely eye opening and soul freeing.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
