Kris Kringle | Something Naughty
Christmas season is really on its way as people are starting to count down the days before the grandest celebration of the year. When I was still in school, i always look forward to exchanging gifts because it feels exciting to give and receive a mysterious thing wrapped so beautifully. So i was elated when our office mate initiated an exchange gift activity. Starting this week, our department has a weekly kris kringle where each of us will prepare a gift worth 50 pesos (1 USD) as exchange gift within the people in our department. Our theme for this week is something naughty!
As for my gift, my friend and I went to the grocery store yesterday after office to look for a gift fit for the theme. The only thing that comes to my mind is egg plant haha! Despite having a feeling that most of us will gift an item that can be found in a grocery, i still chose a produce anyway.
To save myself time from thinking what to give, I bought 2 eggs and an eggplant as my gift, plus other fruits for myself since the grocery store offered a buy one take one promo.
When the clock strike 5 in the afternoon, everyone gathered in our office pantry and collectively paced our prepared kris kringle in the table with chronological numbers. Each of us draw a random number and receive the gift that coincide with the chosen number.
To my surprised, the gift that i receive is 4 eggs. I jokingly declared that my 1 egg multiplied ten folds! Metaphorically, i'd like to believe that what you give in the world will come back to you ten folds. So we must always resolve to do good unto others because it will come back to us in an unexpected ways.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
Love, Jane
