Yesterday’s run turned into something far more memorable than I expected. I set out with a simple goal in mind: complete my usual 5 KM. The plan was straightforward, but the experience quickly evolved into something deeper. By the time we were approaching the final stretch, the daylight had completely faded, and we found ourselves running under the night sky.

Running in the dark changes everything. Your senses sharpen, your focus increases, and every step feels more intentional.

I ran alongside my dad, and he played a crucial role throughout the entire distance. He acted as my pacer, setting a steady and demanding rhythm that kept me on my toes. His endurance is something I truly admire, and trying to match his pace forced me to give more than I usually would. It wasn’t just about keeping up—it was about pushing beyond my limits.

There’s something powerful about running with someone stronger or more experienced. It challenges your mindset, builds resilience, and reminds you that growth often comes from discomfort.

Even though we finished in complete darkness, it felt like a victory worth celebrating. Another 5 KM completed, another lesson learned, and another moment shared that I won’t forget anytime soon.

La carrera de ayer terminó siendo mucho más especial de lo que esperaba. Salí con un objetivo simple: completar mis 5 KM habituales. El plan era claro, pero la experiencia terminó siendo algo mucho más profundo. Cuando ya estábamos en la parte final del recorrido, la luz del día había desaparecido por completo y terminamos corriendo bajo la oscuridad de la noche.

Correr de noche cambia todo. Tus sentidos se agudizan, tu concentración aumenta y cada paso se vuelve más consciente.

Corrí junto a mi papá, y sinceramente jugó un papel clave durante todo el recorrido. Me sirvió de liebre, marcando un ritmo constante y exigente que me obligó a mantenerme firme. Su resistencia es admirable, y tratar de seguirle el paso hizo que diera más de lo que normalmente doy. No era solo alcanzarlo, era superarme a mí mismo.

Hay algo muy poderoso en correr con alguien que tiene más experiencia o resistencia. Te reta mentalmente, fortalece tu disciplina y te recuerda que el progreso muchas veces nace de la incomodidad.

Aunque terminamos completamente de noche, se sintió como una gran victoria. Otros 5 KM completados, otra lección aprendida y otro momento compartido que no olvidaré.
