An Afternoon of Bread, the World Cup, and Coffee
For several days now, my afternoons have become times when everyday activities blend with my passion for the beautiful game, since the World Cup has arrived packed with excitement and truly unique moments—and as a true lover of this sport, I can’t help but enjoy this event, which happens only once every four years, to the fullest.

But we’re not here to talk about soccer, predictions, or betting pools; we’re in this community because we’re united by a shared passion—one that comes with an incredible flavor, a powerful aroma, and stories worth telling. This is how coffee transcends cultures, nations, and continents; drawing a rather bold analogy, I can say that it’s as universal an element as modern soccer itself.
What better way to watch a World Cup game than sitting in the comfort of my living room, accompanied by a good cup of freshly brewed Venezuelan coffee and some freshly toasted garlic bread? This is a truly perfect combination—one that fills me with energy and, at the same time, helps me weather the emotional ups and downs of incredibly close matches, where surprises are the order of the day and the favorites struggle to win.
My country isn’t participating in this sporting event, but as a true fan of the sport, my heart beats for a different team in every match. But when it comes to coffee, Venezuelan beans hold their own, as they embody the true flavor of my homeland, the aroma of my memories, and the passion of a people known for their resilience and unmatched optimism.
