Fazla gururun göte değil de karna vurduğu bir Japon intihar şekli.
"Hara" karın, "kiri" kesmek, deşmek anlamına gelir. Japonya'da onurlu kimseler yüz kızartıcı suç işledikleri zaman kendilerini harakiri ile cezalandırırlar.
Not: Bizim köyde göte "göt" derler.
