Crónica de un agotamiento colectivo [Es-En]
Hola, amigos.

Chronicle of a collective exhaustion
Hello, friends.
#GreenZone always welcomes us with the same enthusiasm. I am grateful for the good vibes everyone brings here to share with us; I truly appreciate every word of support because I am exhausted, drained more from an emotional standpoint than a physical one.
And I genuinely maintain my support for others, but there comes a moment when my strength falters. Yesterday I went to the other end of the city and witnessed a bleak landscape. Everyone is searching for products as if preparing for a disaster. Others take advantage of this instability and set unattainable prices.
Emotional exhaustion, in contexts of social and economic precariousness, ceases to be a passing fatigue and becomes a chronic state of survival. It is painful to see a society with no apparent way out and fearful of the future. It is not just the tiredness from walking; it is the wear and tear of living in a permanent state of alert, calculating how to stretch a salary that never suffices, facing the uncertainty of unstable employment or the hostile bureaucracy of social assistance we have grown accustomed to.
This exhaustion stems from the constant tension between the effort invested and the lack of rewards. It is the anguish of being unable to plan a future, the grief for postponed projects, and the shame of not meeting social expectations that are supposedly within everyone's reach. It's like seeing all paths blocked, and in practice, when we go to a hospital and find no doctors or medicine, fear sets in.
We are truly living through a crisis that overwhelms our capacity to respond. Unlike other crises where we have had hope, in this one we are certain it is an existential crisis.
What is devastating is that this tiredness becomes normalized and is experienced in a solitude that deepens the anthropological damage. It is no longer about personal failure, but a collective one. It is actually a natural response to a hostile environment that, no matter how much we isolate ourselves or run, catches up with us.
The anthropological damage is long-term: precariousness not only empties pockets but also devours the emotional energy needed to care for oneself, dream, or maintain relationships. Social vices are created, and there is no law to stop such excesses. Recognizing it as a collective symptom, and not as an individual weakness, is the first step to naming that which, in silence, wears us down as much as the lack of resources.
Living in a corrupt and insecure society means inhabiting a body in a state of permanent alert. The street becomes a trench; the stranger, a threat. Every outing involves a risk assessment, every return home, a sigh of relief for the safety that home provides.
This anguish is not only fear of physical harm; it is fear of the deterioration of the soul, of pettiness, of theft, and of violence. Distrust becomes instinct: when we go to pay, we look around. Today I felt afraid walking through a group of young people who, presumably, use drugs and sell stolen parts. I feel that by not looking anyone in the eye, tenderness atrophies from a lack of empathy and common cause.
The most subtle thing is the ability to normalize evil. In almost every household, people survive or get by poorly, reselling or buying something that is stolen. Vice, corruption, neglect, noise, collapses become internalized as part of the landscape. And one ends up no longer hating the violent ones, but suspecting the kind, as if goodness were the last and most vulnerable of aberrations.
