The Dunajec River Gorge
My first post: Pictured: the Pieniny Mountains, the Dunajec Gorge.
The approximately 8 km long Dunajec River Gorge stretches between Sromowce Niżne and Szczawnica through the Pieniny Mountains. The river forms many meanders along this stretch and the rock walls reach heights of up to 300 metres.
You can navigate the gorge on a guided rafting trip or independently in a kayak or on an inflatable raft. I recommend a self-guided trip as this mountain river doesn’t require much experience, although it's better to have some skills.
