I got 2 nicknames

In our life, we may have several nicknames. Most of the time nicknames were given by friends or a nickname can create accidentally or sometimes we also give a nickname to us for various purposes. I have seen many friends give a nickname to others to mock them. Again some nicknames are given because they suited's well with one's character.

Giving a nickname is not bad until it's humiliating. But many give a nickname because of their physical appearance and it become a term of body shaming. Suppose one human is fat and his color is black and for that reason, if we give them a nickname, it means we are humiliating them.

In my life, people give me two nicknames. One of them was given to me by my grandmother and another one was given by friends.

My first nickname was Kalaiye which was given by my grandmother when I came to my father's house after almost 2 years. My grandmother didn't like me because of my skin color. My skin color is black and it was the first reason my grandmother didn't like me. Although the situation changed and my grandmother's mentality also changed but I can't change the past. Kalaiye means saying one that his skin color is black and it is mostly used for humiliating one whose skin color is black. I was never concerned about my skin color and I used to hear it from my grandmother. I never mind hearing it from my grandmother. But when I was in class 9 one of my cousins who was in class 1 said to me Kalaiye because I restrict him from doing one thing which made him angry. I felt very bad hearing that name from a little kid and I thought a little kid can also humiliate me by saying it. It was a totally unexpected situation for me and I wasn't used to it. I wish I would explain how bad I felt that day. From that day I thought anyone could say it to me and I should not feel disturbed because of it even if I hear it from a junior. I trained myself for it and I actually don't care who saying this. At the current time, If anyone says to me, I agree with them and give them satisfying vibes. I think there is nothing wrong with accepting the truth but rarely I make counter-attacks after getting them a satisfying feeling depending on my mood and make sure they pay 10 times the humiliations they want to give me. I think it would be their bad luck if someone face the counter-attack. At the current time, no one calls me by that name or nobody dares to call me by that name.

My second nickname is Dalton and this name was given to me while I was in class 8. It was the time when I came to the town for the study and I was trying my best to cope up with the study with the students of town. I was doing well but I didn't notice that I was performing better than others. That time we were reading about molecules and the name of John Dalton came automatically there. From that time all the students of the students gave my name to me because of my good performance in study. I was happy with that nickname because it was the name of an English chemist, physicist, and meteorologist. I felt very proud when anyone calls me by that name. From that time in school started to call me by my new nickname even every teacher of that school used to call me Dalton seems like they forgot about my real name. A few years ago I met with a teacher who called me by the name of Dalton because he wasn't able to remember my real name. No one calls me by that name now because those friends of that school are not with me but whenever I met with anyone, they don't forget to make me remember my nickname.
