When I was young I was bright
You stole my fire and my light
You taught me to wear a disguise
To keep all the pain on the inside

Why couldn't you just let me go
My innocence now will not show
I did hope for escape I did pray
I really thought that I got away

The light is extinguished I am jaded
Hoping for reprieve my soul is faded
Your looming shadow still does cast
I need a way to forget about the past

Your touch took a huge toll
Still falling deep in the dark
Still waiting for your remark

My memories never really leave me
The mirror shows an empty reflection
Sailing the uncharted sea of my misery
Life's just a projection got no protection

Got some voodoo to pull through
Wearing a happy face to make do

Left high and dry screw you too

Shining I will never know
Feeling the darkness grow
A vacancy you did bestow
Light not willing to show
