
Facebook penalized for GDPR in 2019
Ireland's Data Protection Commission (DPC), which is the default privacy regulator for Facebook in Europe penalised Facebook for the violations of the GDPR laws.
This was in addition to the announcement that it would be setting aside $3 billion to cover the costs of a privacy investigation launched by the US regulators.
Facebook has faced the fines in US and Ireland now. The story of stealing the personal information through the third party apps is getting expensive for the company.
