My Most Recent Indulgence

Yesterday's lunch...

Sandwich, Avo and Lumpiang Shanghai.

Still the same, just another angle.

Too much for a snack? Hmmm, not really. They're tasty!

Our neighbor from up the hill brought us several avocados freshly-picked from their trees a week ago and we just had them on the tray, ripening on their own. A few days back, the other neighbor from where the goats were gave the husband 5 pieces almost rounded avos from their avocado tree too. Hmmm... like we were collecting avos, lol! Well, we've got amazing neighbors you see and in this little community, we still practice that culture of sharing, and that's one of the things that I truly appreciate living in the countryside.

Anyhow, the avocados were slowly turning to deep purplish which means they are already ripe. Yesterday, I had quite an indulgence with them for my lunch. The husband was away and in days as such, I can do me food without rice. And so I had them light, a sandwich and half of the avos on my plate. Aah, not to forget the tasty chicken-flavored Lumpiang Shanghai too.

Groceries and kitchen stuff are mostly done by the husband. Let's just say I'm less-creative when it comes to food so he usually does them. Most times, he'd come home with something new in the grocery bags. Gemma's Lumpiang Shanghai was one he recently brought home. It's one of those shanghai's that had no weird scent or smell so I love them. They are processed though so obviously they're not the best option but they're just so tasty! And yesterday, I had them with lunch and for my snacks too. They're crunchy and I like them without sauce.

"Did you not eat again???" the husband asked in an accusing tone when he came home late afternoon. Told him I ate sandwich, avo and shanghai. "And that's it?" he continued with his investigative tone. It's quite amusing that the first thing he'd check when coming home is the food in the kitchen. He'd immediately know if I ate or not. He does that every single time he's out for the day and then come home in the afternoon, lol! So yes, I'm used to it already.

And I'm spurting too much again, I have to stop, lol!
