Hello [From DD] 😍

Well, we came back yesterday after enjoying a simple birthday lunch with Dad, courtesy of the husband who prepared the food and even had a wee cake ready. With my brother always away, our old man was delighted to have us in his company for the last 6 days. We had most of our meals at his house, and during those times, he often spoke about Mom. Although he didn't say it out loud, I believe he misses her too. The good thing is that he remembers mostly the fond memories.

Anyhow, I was so pleased to find tiny greens (lettuce) on the trays when we arrived yesterday late afternoon. Only a few didn't germinate (11 holes if I counted them correctly). The reviews about the seeds are accurate. Most said they have a 95% germination rate. It's about 96% for me. That's pretty good!

I realized it had been 10 days since I've sown them. Couldn't wait for them to grow a little larger so we could transfer them into the hydroponic cups. Four more days to go, and they will be ready; that is according to the accompanying instructions. But with the warmer weather here today (and hopefully in the next few days), they might develop more leaves rapidly.

We'll see.

Meanwhile, my little boy is back in hibernation mode. He had been on the edge in BC, always alert and ready to act when he senses even the tiniest threat in his territory.😅

He tends to be a lot calmer here, probably because he couldn't see people often (while the street is below the property, hedges and trees obstruct his view), in contrast to BC, where he can easily spot people passing by the street above the house through the door or the living room windows.

Some of my brother's boys often taunt him by chanting "Yong, Yong, Yong, Yong" whenever they walk by, and he gets really mad, but he couldn't run after them because we installed a pet gate in the front door.😅

As for the hubby and me, we will slowly go back to our DD routine, starting with some light chores outside the doors.
