Glad to be back here for a week now. I've been struggling with anxiety but trying to stay mindful since I'm still in my training week. For those who missed my previous post, I'm currently in Cebu for work…

CEBU TRAINING UPDATE..

Today marks my first month in Cebu since starting my job! I'm currently working in the BPO industry, on a graveyard shift from 10 PM to 7 AM. During our first week of training, we had a 7 AM to 4 PM schedule. At first, my body and mind struggled to adjust to the shifting schedules, but over time, I finally adapted.

During our first week on the graveyard shift, we would all start feeling sleepy around 3 AM while listening to our trainer—some even dozed off! To keep things lively, anyone caught closing their eyes had to do an icebreaker, which usually meant singing or dancing. 😅

MISSING HOME..

Training has truly been an enjoyable journey, but a part of me still longs for home. I miss my kids, my partner, and the peace and calm of the countryside—no busy streets, no crowds, no pollution, no giant rats the size of cats, and no constant noise! But as much as I wish to be there, it’s not that I have no choice but it's the right choice abd and that's to work and earn a living for my children.

HOW TECHNOLOGY HELPED ME..

Despite the distance, I’m grateful for the technology we have today. Whenever we miss our loved ones, we can easily connect with them through Messenger. Though we can’t physically hug or kiss them, just seeing their faces on the screen fills us with joy.

No matter how busy life gets, it’s important to make time to check in, ask about their day at school or home, and let them know they’re always in our hearts. Back when I was a child, we didn’t have this kind of convenience. I still remember my dad working in Manila, sending letters to my mom through the post office. Looking at how far we’ve come, the difference is truly remarkable.

MY SUPPORT SYSTEM..

"The family I came from will always be important, but the family I’ve built is my priority."

I know my mom understands that I have my own family now. Though we may be apart, they will always be my first family. But right now, my focus has to be on my own—raising my kids and ensuring they get the education they deserve.

I've finally realized just how challenging motherhood truly is. No one ever warned me that being a stay-at-home mom feels like juggling eight different jobs in a single day! That’s also why I chose to work—I have more experience in the workforce than my partner, and I want to do everything I can to support my family.

MY PARTNER..

I am incredibly proud of my partner for being the absolute best! While I may not always be the most vocal about my appreciation, deep down, I am truly grateful to have him by my side—even with his nonchalant nature.

Like any couple, we have our fair share of disagreements and occasional arguments, but one thing I admire about him is his patience and composure. No matter how heated a discussion gets, I have never once heard him raise his voice at me. If anything, I’m usually the one who gets loud! Haha!

Beyond everything, what matters most to me is trust, and when it comes to our children, I wouldn’t want anyone else caring for them. He is the only person I can rely on wholeheartedly, knowing that he will always do what’s best for them. Having him as my partner and co-parent is something I cherish every day.

WORK/LIFE BALANCE..

Next week marks the beginning of our calls, and I couldn’t be more excited! I just hope I don’t experience a mental block and that I can confidently address all customer concerns. My account is far from an easy job—it requires a lot of effort, critical thinking, and sometimes even overthinking. But I am determined to give it my all because this job means so much to me.

Being away from my kids is one of the biggest challenges I face, especially knowing that my one-year-old still longs for a mother’s care. It’s never easy, but my love for them keeps me going. To my little one, please know that I am doing this for you, for your kuya, and for your ate. Every sacrifice I make is for our future, and I trust that in the end, it will all be worth it.

ENDING THOUGHTS..

The family we built is my first priority now. We may have different stories either stay at home mom or working moms, we all do have the same goal and that is to provide what’s best for our kids. Keep on dreaming mommies, we got this!❤️
