The Transition - Becoming a "Good" Curator
So I am not a developer and I do not know how Hive works from a technical perspective.
That being said, I do believe I understand how Hive was designed to work.
I believe Hive was designed to attract "good" authors and "good" curators.
I believe I have become a good author. My followers on Hive like to read and engage with what I write.
This feels like winning.
But what about being a "good" curator?
I think I have achieved being a "good" curator with the TradFi community. I upvote TradFi posts and upvote "good" comments.
That being said, this is only one example. I would like to pressure test my success. What if I create another community?
So if you have been following me you probably know I already created another community before I made this post LOL!
I feel like TradFi community is in a good spot. And don't get me wrong, I will always need to work on TradFi and I will always be refining the success that the TradFi community has achieved.
That being said, I can do more than one thing at the same time. I will be launching a "Web 2" gaming community soon. I already created the community account I am just in the final stages of working out the details. So, this post made sense to do today.
I do not really like being an author on Hive. I like to curate. There is a difference between writing posts and curating.
I want to curate more and author less. That being said, I do like to write about what I enjoy which is TradFi and Web 2 gaming.
So I will continue to write in my TradFu community, I will continue to write about gaming, and I will continue to write about Hive (sometimes 😉).
I have had a "weird" day. Today I made the decision to focus on Hive more and focus on Discord less.
I am emotionally and financially invested in Hive. So you will no longer see me on Discord. You can reach me on Hive going forward.
I can appreciate this post does not give people much to work with. But I would encourage my followers to be excited about my new Web 2 gaming community and be ready to particpate.
You do not need to participate but I would be very happy if you did.
I need at least a 2 days to finalize what I am doing. Until then, just be patient but also getting excited is encouraged.
There are a lot of moving pieces but I am excited about our future on Hive.
Cheers,
Hurt
