Wedding Reception
Greetings everyone.
I joined. Thank you Liketu community. I attended my nephew's wedding, the reception was held in Semarang city, Central Java, indonesia. I live in a different Province in west Java. I stayed in a hotel not far from the reception venue.
One of the wedding reception concept used was central Javanese customs and culture. The marriage vows had been held several days prior. I arrived at the wedding reception hall morning before the even began.
And I could see event began and I could see the typical traditional and cultural decorations that had symbols and philosophies. A red carpet decorated the room that the bride and from and invited guests Will pass through.
Various flowers were placed on curved wood, such as roses, sedap malam flowers and other flowers. These selected flowers gave off a strong aroma that would make invited guests comfortable.
The selected batik cloth symbolized the hope that the bride and from would find happiness. There were two statues of a man and a women with various flowers, symbolizing harmony, prosperity and happiness.
Janur decoration Made from young coconut leaves as a welcome to incoming guests and its philosophy was to unite two souls. The hope of living life in a household.
The essence of a wedding reception is prayer and hope, goodness in the journey of life for the bride and from their families and the invited guests who Will pray for them.
The wedding reception brings together the bride and groom's extended family as a symbol of prayer, happiness and also presents other invited guests. In the event of bringing together the two brides and groom's, there is a cultural custom.
Namely the bride parents by prostrating, the purpose is to apologize, ask for their children's blessings to live a married life. In Javanese it is called Sungkeman. Then the cultural custom of the bride washing the groom's feet symbolized the wife's obedience to her husband.
The wedding decoration uses a background of a typical central Javanese building, namely the joglo roof, in the joglo roof building, there are four pillars or Soko guru, which symbolize strength in carrying out family life.
One of the things that must be prepared for wedding reception is a meal for the invited guests. Such as several food stalls that are nicely arranged complete with people who Will serve them.
