Even though the government has met with representatives of the economic sector to avoid speculation and market distortions, prices keep skyrocketing.
January 7th (in the afternoon): 321 Bs per $
To bypass the Central-Bank regulated exchange rate and still be in "good" standing with the law, people are charging goods and services at Euro rates (375 Bs per €).
The black market is now flirting with 700 Bs/$ and if you are an average person who depends on salaries paid in Bs, you are fucked!
The US government announces beautiful oil deals and plans to fix electricity infrastructure while the ínterim government announces plans to rescue the arrested president and punish anyone inside who might threaten their discourse and authority.
No political prisoners have been released yet.
The next weeks will be a tiring charade of official/bombastic/speculative announcements (on all sides) that will remain disconnected from the reality the average person will be living.
