Having Water Tank Cleaned
Water service in Venezuela, even in big cities, is not exactly a given. Caracas is not the exception and people have to resort to water tanks to guarantee some water for basic needs.
The quality of water we get here is questionable and that forces people to buy potable water to drinks or install filters. The water tanks accumulate sediments quickly and we witnessed how bad it can be a few days ago. It did not help that we add bleech to the water.
We hired the services of a neighbor who is a plumber and good at this particular operation.
To complicated things a little bit, the drainage was clogged. Thus, we had to pay extra for the unclogging. Once uninstalled, we had to carry the tank to one of the bathrooms to empty out the remaining water at the bottom.
Then, the dirty job started.
I offered to help, since I am thinner than my neighbor, and his assisstant had bailed on him that day, but he inssisted he would do it himself.
I helped washing up the cloth after each section of moss removal. It was like the bottom of a river or pond.
After the filthy parts were removed, a clean cloth with bleech was applied.
This is the end result. As good as new.
We covered the holes on the wall to prevent sunlight from accelerating algae growth. Hopefully, we won't have to pay for another cleaning in months.
