pathogens are everywhere around us all the time .

However,we do not get disease all the time. It is because our body has a natural resistance or shield that protects us from these pathogens.it is called immunity.

           Immunity is the ability of a body to resist against diseasea. It is  a complex system of defense in the body . It works in progressive stages with the help of various organs, tissues and cells.

⚫▪️Types⚫▪️

There are three lines of defence making up three types of immune system.

⚫▪️innate,
⚫⚫acquired

⚫▪️adaptive immune system.

⚫▪️Innate immune system

Innate immune system or immunity is the defense system with which you are born . It is non_specific .

Cannot identify pathogens.
Therefore,it responds and checks all the pathogens entering into body .it has two parts

⚫▪️Physical barriers _the first line defence.

⚫▪️Response cells _ the second line defence.

⚫◾Adaptive immune system

Adaptive immunity is pathogen specific. It can recognize the pathogens and respond accordingly. An antibody is a protein created by the body in response an antigen.
When the body encounters antigens, our lymphocytes (WBCs) make specific antibodies against them that target and eliminate those antigens. Once lymphocytes produce a specific antibody against a pathogen ,the body starts recovering.vitvtakes a few days to make enough antibodies which can lead to symptoms like fever in the infected person.
