It's Too Early For (Halloween) Decorations
I'm seeing a lot out already
To me it should be only in October, like the first day to put it out is Oct 1
I've heard that Halloween is now a bigger holiday in some respects than Christmas
Christmas decorations are getting put out earlier these days too, like right after Halloween
I think actually this is symbolic of instant gratification and an inversion of traditional viewpoints
Traditionally, Advent (days before Christmas) is supposed to be a "dark" time of waiting for Jesus the Savior to arrive on Christmas, and then there's celebrating for over a whole month ("Christmastide") - like, there could be a lack of decorations up until Christmas, I thought I heard of certain traditions of decorating on Christmas Eve, but today decorating goes on in Advent and then things are taken down by the Epiphany, and then there's darkness for a while
What do you think about holiday decorating, how early is "too early" or how late is too late?
